So I think this is the 23rd of August...or was, but some of the gang decided to go to Akihabara after some school business got done. We mostly hung out at Club Sega which is a giant arcade some odd stories high. Our new addiction is...UFO crane games. They are my low stakes gambling. The following video contains the jist of our trip.

Harajuku Boy...
First Trip to Harajuku in Tokyo. August 22, 2010.
Fashion, crepes and weird people. awesome.
The way this Vlog is structured is probably the way I will make most of my videos. Its easy and fast for me which means more time for school and living while still being enjoyable for you.
In any case enjoy!

つかれた! Im Tired!!
Im still getting used to walking absolutely everywhere, so today was a full day. After the last orientation me and some of the dorm mates went to the Azabu-Juban Matsuri down the street. It was basically a block party celebrating no particular holiday. It was also my first ever real Japanese matsuri.
It had lots of goood looking food (TUJ had a small pizza party before so we were full) and they made one hell of a shaved ice. I also won my first JDM carnival type game. It involved picking up a water filled balloon using a hook made with paper. Gave the balloon to a kid since I had no idea what to do with it. haha. Ill get video of the game at another festival.
not much of a Vlog but just a short clip of the festival.
Afterwards we went to Shibuya again to try and get some cellphones but that failed since I have to get a bank account. Hopefully I can take care of that soon so I can contact some of my friends here in Tokyo. Japan is a real convenient place but since you have to walk and take trains everywhere it can be a hassle since you have to spend a whole day doing one thing. In any case im tired and have a free day tomorrow before placement exams. Will post tomorrow.

Turn of Events...
Included in this second day post is my first video. It contains a quick summary of my Day 2 in my Japan adventure as well as a couple of clips of me getting down.
Although its only day 2 I am starting to settle in and it is getting me excited for the near future when I will possibly understand what the store clerk says and know my way around Tokyo.
As far as this blog is concerned, I will try to start documenting more because I want to make videos on a regular basis in addition to text posts and pictures.

So it finally sinks in...
The weeks, days and even hours before I set foot in Japan it never really hit me what was happening. I first visited Japan after High School graduation in 2007 and fell in love with the place that I decided I wanted to come back but for longer. 3 years in the planning later this goal started to materialize.
I left a lot of good things behind back in the states and it has made this first day difficult. Besides forgetting my arrival instructions and having to call my friend Simon internationally to read me my email (Narita Wi-fi would not co-operate), I find myself with a little separation anxiety. Maybe its because I had a long day or maybe its because I had such a high expectation of how I would feel when I landed in Japan. I mean who wouldn't be excited when a long goal has finally been reached?
The bottom line is I am already missing home.
However, I know its ONLY day 1. Once things simmer I know Japan will be a dream come true. I have 100% faith it will. I will make it so. Damn it im in JAPAN!
And on that bomb shell, I'd like to announce the opening of this blog and announcement of future Vlogs. This will be like my personal journal so it will be updated frequently so you will know what is going on in my life as well as whats going on in my head...(ice cream)..
